November is one of our favorite months because it is Family Literacy Month! Story time is a great opportunity to bond with your child and help them practicing their reading skills.
A family that reads together, grows together.
Here are some tips on how to celebrate Family Literacy Month:
(1) The Joys of Childhood. We all have the one, or two, or three books that really shaped our childhood and helps us remember the joys of adolescence. Read your favorite childhood book with your child.
(2) Read and Watch. Many books have movies. Reading the book and then watching the movie is an engaging way to keep your young reader reading.
(3) Theme Week. Each week, pick a theme and find different children’s books that pertains to that theme. How about this holiday season this week?
(4) Get Creative. Let your young reader choose. Allow them to express their creativity by deciding what they would like to read each week.
We would love to know how you are celebrating Family Literacy Month!
